Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images often contain a scale bar that indicates the magnification level and the physical dimensions of the objects in images. However, existing methods for scale bar detection is manual, which is slow, labor-intensive, and prone to errors. Our system will train a model that can automatically locate the scale bar, extract the text and revert it into data in any SEM image. Subsequently, the physical meaning can be used directly without manual measurement.
