Project Description
Problem
The current market for lock designs is facing a critical challenge: the urgent demand for high-tech, safe, and easy-to-install digital locks that can fit a variety of doors. Traditional locks, while providing basic security, do not meet the evolving needs of consumers who are increasingly seeking more sophisticated and reliable security solutions. Digital locks, which offer enhanced security features such as Bluetooth access and remote control, present a viable solution, but their adoption is hindered by high costs and complex installation processes.
Our project focuses on Bosch's EU lock, which is designed specifically for the European market. This lock’s internal structure has been optimized to simplify installation, making it more accessible to the average homeowner. However, despite its advancements, the Bosch EU lock still faces several imperfections. For example, the batteries are difficult to replace, the PCB wiring can be confusing, and the lock lacks monitoring of the switch status.
